Meanwhile the loons on the other side of the lake have been struggling. Those pesky black flies drove them to abandon the eggs they laid earlier in May.  Sometime last week they resumed nesting and laid another two eggs. It’s unlikely that all 4 will end up being viable but we have high hopes that the two new eggs will hatch in several weeks. We’ll keep you posted on this latest development!
